US 63 MapUS 63 ShieldRandolph County, NC

US 64 begins a few blocks from the Atlantic Ocean on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. The route heads west across North Carolina, passing on the south side of Raleigh. As US 64 approaches the Appalachian Mountains, it heads south to follow the southern border of North Carolina through the mountains to Tennessee, where it passes through Chattanooga in the east and Memphis in the west. Arkansas is next on US 64's route, passing north of Little Rock and through Fort Smith. US 64 covers the width of Oklahoma, heading northwest through Tulsa and then west across the panhandle to New Mexico. US 64 then traverses northern New Mexico and enters Arizona for a few miles before ending near the Four Corners.

We traveled US 64 from end to end in early August 2025, taking these photographs along the way.
