NJ Transit Morris & Essex Lines Trip Report

Our first trip on the Morristown Line was our return trip on 29 December 2009 after riding the Montclair-Boonton Line. We boarded our train in Hoboken and except for a stop in Newark ran express to Summit. From Summit we made all stops along the Morristown Line until we arrived back in Hackettstown. After our long day of train riding we stopped at a nearby pizza place in Hackettstown for an enjoyable late lunch / early dinner pizza.

Our second trip on the Morris and Essex Lines began in Gladstone on 16 January 2010. We drove to the quiet little town of Gladstone where we boarded the shuttle for our ride to Summit. At Summit we had to change trains to a very crowded Morristown Line train to New York. Although the train skipped a couple of stops on the way to New York, our return train stopped at those few missed stations. Once again on the return trip we had to change trains in Summit, boarding the shuttle for the ride back to Gladstone.
